Relaxed Awareness

I help my clients uncover their hidden (crappy) thoughts that are creating the EXACT results they DON’T want!

Cue their reaction…

Immediately, they want to get rid of these thoughts.

Understandably so.

These thoughts feel bad. And again, they’re creating an undesirable result.

So in the beginning, my clients will attempt to remove these thoughts from their conscious minds with aggression.

Stop it. I don’t want to think you anymore. Get out of my head. You’re not helping me. You feel terrible

{ insert pretty, positive thought 🌸}

Ugh. I can’t stop thinking you. Leave me alone! You’re not serving me

It’s this internal battle of trying to remove a negative thought and replacing it with a positive one.

And while that’s the GOAL, that approach is not sustainable.

Awareness is KEY in shifting our beliefs, 100%.

But there’s a huge difference between aggressive awareness and relaxed awareness.

You can’t yell at your inner critic and expect it to calm down.

It doesn’t work with other people and it’s no different here!

You can’t push away negative thoughts or try to ignore them altogether  because what you resist, persists.

Instead, you must be gentle and curious.

Establishing an unconditionally loving relationship with your inner critic means inviting it in for some tea and cookies.

And then you show it to the door!
