We each have the power to press “restart” on any day at anytime of the year, but I understand how the start of a new year feels like one huge refresh button.
But, it’s one thing to think about making positive changes and another to actually make those changes day in and day out.
Because seriously, how fast does a year go by? It’s crazy!
It’s true what they say: the days are long, but the years are very, very short.
But, if we’re using our time wisely, 365 days is all we need.
So today I want to give you my 60 second advice to help you make this year the best year yet. Find out what separates the people who have a dream year from those who just have another year.
Have a fun & safe New Year’s Eve. Cheers to a fantastic 2016 : )
with much love and gratitude,
Hi guys! It is almost 2016. Whattttt, what. I remember when the ball dropped in 2000 and we all thought we were goners
And yet, here we are, 16 years kicking and still kicking..
Every single year around the holidays, I say the exact same thing: I can’t believe how fast this year went by.
It is true what they say, the days are long, but the years are very very short.
Instead of doing a longer video on resolutions and goal setting, I wanted to give just ONE piece of information today, one piece of advice I have for you to make the most out of your new year.
I’m calling it the best fear of the new year!!
I should’ve went into advertising.
So, as the title promises: put :60 seconds on the clock!
Take a sip of water for this one.
There are 2 types of fear: the fear of failure and the fear of insignificance. If we don’t choose consciously which one we want to live by, by default failure always wins.
This year, I’m encouraging you to adopt the fear of insignificance.
I’ve come to realize that the hustler in me was born from this type of fear.
I wanted my life to be special. I wanted to be somebody- someone who left a lasting impression on this world…a legacy you might say. The thought of not living up to my full potential left me feeling terrified. I was terrified of doing meaningless work for the rest of my life and not contributing to the world. I was scared that I’d live a mediocre, uninspiring life. This is the fear that drove me to quit my cushy job, uproot my life, find my gifts and chase my dreams.
…And I’ve never looked back.
You were born to live an extraordinary life.
Face your fear of failure and continue to manage it. Choose the fear of insignificance this year to drive your life! Because that is what’s going to separate the people who have a dream year from those who just have another year.
Cheers to a fantastic 2016 everyone.
Shoutout to Ben Arment, author of Dream Year who’s book inspired this video.
It’s a little early to start drinking, isn’t it?
I hope you guys continue to watch- I have some really great stuff in the works.
