Don’t Know What You Want? DO THIS!!

April 19, 2017 | Written with Love By: Shaina Leis

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the people who get what they want in life are the people who make the effort to figure out what that is.

Makes sense right?

I talk a lot about finding your passion and building the life of your dreams, but I’m well aware that some people feel overwhelmed and just need a simple, easy starting point.

That’s why I created this video!

I want to help you figure out what you want right now so that you can start working toward it ASAP.

With that being said, let’s get the ball rolling…

with gratitude and much love,

Hey guys, Happy Wednesday. For those of you who are new here, welcome, I’m Shaina Leis.

If you’re not new here and this ain’t your first rodeo, welcome back + thanks for always watching.

Ok, so on my channel, I talk a lot about finding your passion, waking up everyday with a purpose and building the life of your dreams, but I know some of you may be like…

Shaina, I don’t know where to even start. I don’t know what I want…right now.

So today, my job is to give you a very simple and easy starting point. Let’s go.

I always say that the people who get what they want in life are the people who make the effort to get to know what that is. Right? It’s not rocket science.

Although I would be a good scientist.

So with that being said, to figure out what it is that you want, I suggest using the 4 P’s: Pushback, Ponder, Poke and Persist.

And please don’t mock this…it took a thesaurus and 30 minutes to create.

1. Pushback all your limiting beliefs + fears. Get them out of the way, just for a second guys. I promise, you can have all your crappy thinking back after this exercise.

Things like “I’m not good enough. What will everyone think? I don’t have enough money.” All that crap…visualize yourself putting it in a box, locking it up and pushing it to the side.

Then, you…

2. Ponder. Because it’s a lot easier to imagine the limitless possibilities when you don’t have anything limiting you.

So you start to think, “OK, if money wasn’t an issue AT ALL and I didn’t have to pay the bills, what would I do? If I weren’t at all concerned about what other people think, what would I do? If I didn’t have to work this job everyday, what would I do instead?

Let your mind wander!!!

Now, there’s a very big chance, that you’ve already thought about this in the past, but you shot those ideas down so quickly that they instantly became wild + crazy.

Well guess what? Just because you don’t believe that WANT is possible, doesn’t mean it will go away. It’s a part of you.

So you might say, that the problem isn’t that you don’t know what you want, but rather your thinking about what you want.

I am a rocket scientist.

Once you ponder, then you…

3. Poke around. Your going to take this idea, this desire and you’re going to explore it a little further. I’m not asking you to quit your job, but I’m asking you to take 10 minutes a day…

Get on your computer and do a Google search, go to the bookstore, are there any books to on the topic, can you think of anyone you know that’s done something similar?

And lastly,

4. Persist. Take what you’ve found in poking around and just take this exploration one step further. Buy and read that book on rock climbing. Attend that free poetry class. Setup a lunch date with your neighbor who’s a photographer.

Guys, it’s shocking how many people give up on what they want without ever just taking the first step. It doesn’t take much. If you just do something everyday, you’ll be amazed as to where it could lead too and where you could end up in a year, two years from now.

That’s it for today guys. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven’t already and share this video on Facebook or twitter. I’ll see you back here next Wednesday. Bye!
